error code 5B42 on Lexion 870

Had a similar setback last season. Turned out to be a blocked sensor after a particularly messy harvest. Clearing the sensor and recalibrating the system should get you back in action.

I completely agree. Grain, dust, and leftover crops can pile up quickly during harvest. I'm curious if there's an effective way to shield that sensor and prevent it from giving errors.

Error 5B42 on the Lexion 870 usually points to a problem with the forward gear solenoid or its wiring. Check the wiring and the solenoid resistance, and also take a look at the Auto 5 module. Clear the code and test it again. If the error comes back, it's time to call a tech

This is a pretty good advice and If you're a bit handy with tools and can follow a few steps, you can do the maintenance yourself. It's not overly complicated

Mine threw that same code last spring and well with a little bit of tinkering, I found it to be a chafed wire near the solenoid. Check the harness before diving deeper.

Ran into that same problem during corn harvest last fall. It ended up being a cracked wire that was tucked away under some buildup. It took me about an hour to track it down, but after I cleaned it up and made the repairs, everything worked smoothly
