I got a John Deere 9500 which I had some issues before when I bought it second hand. Its computer board was recently changed and now I'm having problems raising or swinging it. it needs me to press the reel switch. it's driving me nuts!

I am looking to check the wires but anyone had the same issue? How did you manage to resolve it? Thanks in advance!

This is a reel switch issue for sure and if not, then it's something going on with the wirings. There are shorts sometimes that trick the system so you gotta inspect everything and clean all connections, make sure they're continuous. Have your trusty multimeter around :)

Not an expert, but that does sound like it could be a switch or wiring issue. Using a multimeter should help you quickly find any shorts or broken connections

This happened to my'96 JD 9500, it was bec of the unloading auger cancel switch was sticking and once I cleaned that up and checked the header coupler pins for corrosion, things smoothed out. Definitely worth tracing the grounds and checking voltage at the valve block.
