Can I block the hose to get through harvest?

Running an S98 Gleaner and while prepping for corn harvest, the aspirator decided to quit on me. With no replacement kit in sight, Im wondering if blocking the hose might get me through the season. Has anyone tried this or is there a better short term fix to keep things running smoothly?

DOn't you think it's early for harvest? Anyways, I wouldn't block the hose because it's essential for the machine to breathe. You might wanna reroute it or something similar

Oh I'm in Georgia, land of unpredictable weather and corn that doesn't wait for the calendar. Trust me, harvest timing's a bit different down here. As for blocking the hose, I get it's not ideal but with no replacement kit on hand, I'm trying to figure out how to limp through the season without blowing up the whole operation. Rerouting sounds like a solid idea though. Any tips on how you'd do that without making things worse?

Why not try a temporary bypass or patch for the aspirator hose instead of blocking it? Blocking might cause other issues, anyone here had success with quick fixes during harvest?

I should report back now that harvest is in the rearview mirror. I ended up finding a replacement kit at a salvage yard two states over and had to drive all night to get it. Thanks to everyone for the advice that helped me understand what I was up against.
